We are situated in Southern New Brunswick, nestled in an area with a beautiful view
of the Waweig River. New Brunswick is well known for having large bucks and over
the past years we have put hunters in front of Boone & Crockett trophies, with success;
one being a 17 point shot by a member of the “New York Campfire Hunting Club”, another
had 14 points. Many other potential trophies were taken home without being scored,
and many other bucks have been taken; 8, 10, 12 points. Some years ago Jon Sunders,
Field Editor of Petersen’s Hunting Magazine shot a beautiful typical 10 point. We
have had our share of proninent people to grace or camp in the past; such as the
great, great grandson of the well-known Robert E. Lee, and the great, great grandson
of Benedict Arnold; bothin the same year. We hunt in territory where buck scrapes
are evident and our coniferous forest is well wooded and known for its big bucks
with a good chance of taking a trophy. Trail cams present a prospective chance for
getting game, it is just up to you and a steady hand and you will have good success.
Before you leave the cabin you’ll see footage in “Live Time” of what is at your bait.
We cater to all hunters pro and amateur alike, providing them with the best opportunity
to get their game. We take special care to strategically place the bow hunter for
the best shot possible.
The chance of taking a nice black bear is 70-80 percent. New Brunswick has two types
of Black Bear/Stubby Bear which can weigh up to 400- 500 lbs. and a long black bear
which can reach up to 7 t0 8 feet. Black bears are a shy animal and very easily spooked
from the bait, this means you must be extra quiet in your stand and pay extreme attention.
We hold the record for the largest black bear taken in New Brunswick, measuring 21
9/16 Boone & Crockett and many Pope & Young trophies have been taken at my establishment.
We have a couple of different baiting methods and they work very well in different
situations, whether it be deep woods or open country. I have personally been working
with hunters successfully for more than 50 years. Due to the pandemic we had to take
a few years off but we feel positive about this year being a productive and exciting
one in the hunting field.
